Marriage should have an expiry date and subject to renewal clause - Toke Makinwa

Toke Makinwa has shared her thoughts about marriages which have lasted for 10 years and more.

In tweets she shared, the media personality disclosed that she respects couples whose marriages have lasted for 10 years and more. Toke Makinwa added that she feels marriages should have an expiry date and subject to renewal clause after a certain number of years.

She tweeted;

Each time I see people who’ve been married for 10 years and more, I can’t lie I respect them BIG, for holding it together and not losing it, it is a lot of work and I wish many people were more honest about that journey
I think marriage should have an expiry and subject to renewal clause after a certain number of years, like the way we renew agreements people should be allowed to look back on time out in, grade themselves and hit the renewal button if they can still stand each other

He always say to me that he loves me and use to ask me that if am not in love with him, i should let him know that breaking a courtship is better than breaking a marriage. I dont even know maybe something was truly wrong with me then because i told him i do love him too, truly, i thought i did, because as at then, i dont usually remember my ex boyfriend, he was the only in my heart, so, i felt i love him.
Now, we are in the marriage, but the thought of my ex boyfriend keeps coming to the extend that when we make love, i always remember my ex boyfriend. i just dont understand all this, i had to reflect in my past that how did we started i remember that i had forgotten my ex boyfriend, now am so confused how his thought started coming again, and this bitters my heart.
My conscience is beginning to hunt me, i never knew i still love my ex until i got married, i dont want to hurt my man and i want to protect my marriage but all i use to remember is my ex and is affecting the marriage, its not as if my ex boyfriend called me, all these just started of a sudden, am so tired of all these nonsense . Please what should i do? I need serious help?

Barack Obama Speaks On His First Date With Michelle

‘Michelle’ was assigned to be my adviser. I remember being struck by how tall and beautiful she was,” said Barack Obama

Obama-and-Michelle obama first date

Former President of the United Stated of America (USA) Barack Obama has opened up on how he met his wife Michelle at the law firm she used to work for.

Barack said that when he got a new job as the same law firm where Michelle worked and found our that she was going to be his mentor he was very happy.

“In the luckiest break of my life, ‘Michelle’ was assigned to be my adviser. I remember being struck by how tall and beautiful she was,” said Barack adding that Michelle was not impressed.

The former first lady disclosed that she remained sceptical of the former president even though Barack was loved by everyone in the office.
“In my experience, you put a suit on any half-intelligent black man and white people tended to go bonkers. I was doubtful he would earn the hype,” said Michelle in her memoir Becoming.

However, Barack did not give up and kept on pursuing her. “I asked her out. She refused. I kept asking. She kept refusing,” said Barack adding that his future wife would turn him down time and time again over the course of several weeks, claiming it was because she was his boss.

Nevertheless, after Barack offered to leave his job then asked Michelle out again, and she said yes. The couple then went for their first date which included lunch, a movie, a stroll in the park, a stop at an ice cream shop and ended off with an incredible kiss on a park bench.

“I treated her to the finest ice cream Baskin-Robbins had to offer, our dinner table doubling as the curb. I kissed her, and it tasted like chocolate,” Barack said.
“And with that, I leaned in and everything felt clear,” Michelle summarized in her memoir.

Mother sentenced to 35 years in prison for beating her son to death with shower head for soiling himself

37-year-old JoAnn Cunningham has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for beating her son to death with shower head because he soiled himself.

The mother who pleaded guilty to the first degree murder of her son Andrew "AJ" Freund in 2019, must serve 100% of the sentence and if released at age 72, must serve a further three years of mandatory supervised release and register as a felon who has committed violence against children.

Though the boy's family had hoped for the maximum 60 years behind bars for the 41 separate charges Cunningham and her husband, Andrew Freund Sr, faced between them, Judge Robert Wilbrandt who delivered the sentence on Friday afternoon said his decision was based on the fact that the murder charge to which Cunningham pleaded guilty did not include the aggravating factors of the original charges.

The couple had called to report that their son was missing on April 18, 2019. While an investigation found no trace of the boy or of an abduction at home; the police did find squalid conditions, bags of used syringes, chains and locks on the windows and doors of AJ's room and a combination lock on his closet.

A search of Cunningham's phone unearthed a video which had been shot on March 4: “AJ is seen laying on a bare mattress in a crib in a room I recognized to be his bedroom," Detective Edwin Maldonado of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, wrote in an affidavit. "In the video, a female with a voice consistent with JoAnn’s is holding the phone and videotaping. She is berating AJ for urinating on his bed."

The officer said that in the video the child is naked except for bandages around his wrist and hips; he is covered in bruising, Action News Jax reported. When confronted with this video, police said Freund confessed and showed them the shallow grave where he had buried his son.

''I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to my children'' Pastor Adeboye replies critics of his birthday message to his wife

Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has told those who bashed him over his birthday message to his wife, Foluke last Monday, July 13, not to bother with the criticism as his message was for his children and not for them.

The 78-year-old clergyman was attacked last week after he shared his birthday message to his wife of 52 years. In the post, the clergyman listed the things his wife has done for him and still does that has made their marriage work and appealed to ladies to learn from her. He said she is a submissive woman who still cooks and serves his meals, and looks after his welfare.

He was seriously bashed by some Nigerians who accused him of making the birthday post about him instead of just celebrating his wife.

This morning, he reacted to the backlash. While delivering his sermon titled “From lockdown to lifting up” on July 19, the clergyman said only his ''children'' would understand his comment.

“As a matter of fact, if there is a way of preaching this sermon just to my own children alone, that is what I would have done.

Not because I’m selfish but occasionally there are things you say to your children that would annoy outsiders. And you keep on saying, but I am not talking to you, I am talking to my children. But now, the lockdown has made the door open to everybody.

Some people see the glory but don’t know the story. Some people see me and say all kinds of things. It’s none of my business.

I don’t need to answer you. I just need to keep on riding high with my king. I’m talking to my children, so others should not be angry with me. Before you take off, consider your landing.” he said
